	BMW's purpose built engine production site opened in late 2000, with a floor area of over 1.15m sq ft. The Valuation Officer assessed the premises at rateable value RV £4,106,000. GL Hearn appealed and eventually reached agreement on the basis of an adjustment from the basis applied to neighbouring distribution warehouses to reflect the manufacturing use of the property. The agreed RV of £3,650,000 produced savings of nearly £850,000.
