We were instructed by Saracen Investments to advise on the provision of affordable housing on this landmark 1960s-built tower office block and adjoining car park. Regeneration costs to provide a mainly residential mixed used scheme made the provision of affordable housing on this site unviable due to the regeneration posing significant development problems, including the renewal of external cladding. In conjunction with planning advice, we advised the developer on the requirement to provide affordable housing and its financial implications particularly in the light of government planning and affordable housing guidelines and recent case law. |
