Improving delivery and efficiency of public services is a central aim of all political parties. An important contribution to this is to take a strategic view of property, as made clear by the Lyons Review, initiated by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2004. Whilst differences between public and private sector exist, there are many common issues and both sectors learn from each other with regard to good practice. GL Hearn is increasing its work with the public sector providing a consultancy approach with a strong commercial aspect. Recent major projects include working with Liverpool City Council and London Development Agency, amongst others.
