Graeme Crumbie

Graeme is a Business Rates Director and heads up our Sunderland office. He is an established rating negotiator in large space and out of town retail, with a proven track record on behalf of numerous national retailers. He is now leading discussions for rating of food stores in the north of England.

Graeme joined the Sunderland office of GL Hearn in 1987 as a general assistant, progressing through the ranks to his current position as Business Rates Director. He is currently responsible for 2010 and 2017 List rating appeals on predominantly out of town superstore and large retail premises in the north of England.

Graeme commenced negotiations for rating purposes towards the end of the 1973 List and bulk rating through the 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005 rating lists. During the 2005 list he co-ordinated many of the north-west retail warehouse estate appeals and eastern England bulk classes as part of the RSA Committees recommending settlement of rating appeals or appearing at Valuation Tribunal when required.

He now deals solely with large space retail appeals across the whole of the north of England acting for major national food and non-food retailers as well as being a longstanding account manager for Morrisons.
