22 October 2015

Paul Clark, director and head of development consultancy and agency, Capita Real Estate, will be speaking this week at MIPIM UK, the UK’s largest exhibition and conference for property professionals. The event provides a market place for UK players and international investors to meet, discuss projects and opportunities, and do business.

Paul’s contribution, which will explore the link between foreign direct investment (FDI) and funding for regeneration projects, is scheduled for Friday 23 October, from 10.15am–11am, in the Red Room. Paul will join a panel including Tony Danaher, Chief Executive of UK Trade and Industry’s Regeneration Investment Organisation (UKTI RIO), Jackie Sadek Chief Executive of UK Regeneration and Laura Mason, Director of Direct Investments at Legal & General Capital.

“The amount of FDI entering the UK at the moment is very similar to the number of regeneration projects currently seeking investment,” according to Paul.  “The trick, therefore, is to align the two – a task which cannot be underestimated, not least because regeneration seeks to deliver more than just financial returns – it is also concerned with creating meaningful social and economic benefits.”

Paul will discuss how to determine when a project is investor ready, which projects need investment, where investors are coming from, and which projects hold the most appeal and why.

As the leader of Capita Real Estate’s development team, Paul brings over 15 years’ experience in complex development consultancy, transactions and land strategy. With a broad background in planning and development, Paul and his team offer fully integrated and comprehensive development consultancy services to both the public and private sectors.
This year’s MIPIM UK event is being held from 21st-23rd October at Olympia London, Hammersmith Road, W14 8UX.
