Ian Shrubsall, National Head of Infrastructure and one of the top industry figures appointed by The Mayor to steer London’s Infrastructure, has bolstered the Development Consents Order (DCO) Infrastructure team at GL Hearn. The GL Hearn team will be strengthened by two senior appointments.

Gideon Amos OBE - former Planning Inspectorate senior Inspector and Panel Examining Inspector for five DCOs‎, and previously Chief Executive of the Town and County Planning Association (TCPA).

Fergus McMorrow - former Director of Development and Chief Executive of Copeland Council, dealing with the Sellafield nuclear site, and the Moorside new nuclear project.

This follows the earlier appointment of Ben Olney - former Planning Manager for the London Olympics and Legacy Transformation, and previously Heathrow‎ T5 Planning Manager in 2014.

The expansion has been fuelled by a number of new Planning contracts won by the market-leading infrastructure team at GL Hearn which include:

National Grid - Michael Lee-Wright. GL Hearn’s Environmental Planning Director is leading on a new four year contract to advise the National Grid group of companies on planning for electricity transmission, gas network reinforcement and , Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

NuGen (Toshiba / GDF Suez)‎ - Ian Shrubsall, GL Hearn's National Head of Infrastructure, is leading the in-house Development Consents Order team‎ and strategic planning services for Europe's largest new nuclear project, in West Cumbria.

Skanska - Ben Stalham is leading the MoD Project Wellesley Worthy Down Camp and Deepcut Barracks relocation, the new Papworth Hospital in Cambridge and final phases of the St. Bartholomew's and Royal London Hospitals.
