GL Hearn has been shortlisted for the Planning Consultancy of the Year Award at the 2015 Planning Awards for Excellence. The Awards, run by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), will be held at the Pullman London St Pancras on 6 July 2015.

GL Hearn has set itself apart from other firms through its unique ‘Create, Develop, Protect and Enhance’ ethos and unparalleled advisory-led approach. The firm attracted the judges’ attention for its ability to demonstrate true leadership, not only in the marketplace, but also in terms of its imaginative approaches and techniques for achieving high quality planning solutions.

GL Hearn is also well-known for its industry-leading research, most notably its Tall Buildings Research and Annual Planning Survey, which it publishes with its partners, New London Architecture and the British Property Federation.

Alastair Crowdy, GL Hearn’s National Head of Planning, Development & Regeneration, comments on being shortlisted: “Being recognised by an organisation like the RTPI is an incredible honour. Our goal at GL Hearn has always been a simple one – to understand our clients’ business, share our expertise and enthusiasm, and work with them to create, develop, protect and enhance their business interests. Our focus has always been on delivery, as well as planning. The fact that our clients continue to place their trust in us for practical, actionable advice motivates us to provide a consistently superior service, as this nomination clearly shows.”

Janet Askew, President of the Royal Town Planning Institute said:

“The shortlist reflects the very best planning projects, strategies and processes that are helping to make great places for people to live and work. The 80 finalists highlight exceptional examples of planning that have made an impact and brought considerable benefits. It will be a tremendous challenge picking individual category winners from such a high quality field.”

The RTPI represents 23,000 planning professionals worldwide and promotes spatial planning, shapes policy and raises professional standards. The Awards for Planning Excellence have been run by the RTPI for over 30 years to recognise planning excellence.

All of the entries on the RTPI’s shortlist have been recognised for their national contribution to planning and demonstrate how significant schemes can be delivered speedily through the planning and other consents systems. For more information, visit the RTPI website.

GL Hearn has also recently been shortlisted for two other prestigious awards, the 2015 Property Awards and Placemaking Awards.
