A planning application for a new family focused residential development has been submitted to Bristol City Council. The development of the 4ha site in the north west of Bristol at Lawrence Weston was identified for vital new housing in the Lawrence West Neighbourhood Plan.

The application has been submitted on behalf of Curo Enterprise Ltd (who bought the land from Bristol City Council in February 2018), and forms a residential scheme, designed by gcp Chartered Architects, providing 128 dwellings, including 30% affordable housing (37 homes), and associated landscape and infrastructure. GL Hearn has provided planning support through the preparation and submission of the full application, as well as providing planning input into affordable housing and stakeholder engagement.

A number of sites have recently been sold for residential development by Bristol City Council to help address a recent trend in the under supply of affordable housing in the City.

The project will provide much needed affordable and entry-level housing for the area, including social rent and shared ownership options.

For further information on this project, run from the GL Hearn Bristol office, please contact Catherine Renfrew or Matthew Harvey.
