Marion is a Chartered town planner specialising in environmental and international planning. She provides environmental advice on residential, mixed use, infrastructure and commercial projects including Screening, Scoping and coordinating environmental impact assessments and Environmental Statements

Marion previously worked at Jacobs Engineering UK (Ltd) and Ironside Farrar Environmental Consultants. There she consulted on infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, rail and flood defences; housing, prison and office developments throughout the UK. This included Scotland’s new Forth Crossing.

She has advised on international planning at the Royal Town Planning Institute which involved promoting international sustainable development commitments e.g. the Paris Climate Change Agreement, the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), New Urban Agenda and the Agenda for Humanity. Marion also attended, advocated and presented at Habitat III – the United Nation’s Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in Quito, Ecuador in 2016. The conference witnessed 160 governments including the UK agreeing a new way to manage, build and adapt our cities and commit to the SDGs.

Marion spoke on engaging communities in the UK and southern Africa and how planners can implement the SDGs and the New Urban Agenda. She has also lectured on planning and environmental issues at two South African universities and mentors planning graduates in the UK and South Africa.
