GL Hearn was appointed to National Grid’s Environmental Services Framework in Spring 2014, The Framework will allow us to provide planning and Environmental services for the ambitious programme of renewal and upgrade that National Grid is promoting. GL Hearn has previously acted as expert witness for National Grid’s Milford Haven to Aberdulais gas pipeline project and achieved planning permission for a gas deodorisation plant within the existing compressor station at Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

GL Hearn was also appointed to advise on a planning strategy for the UK- Continent Interconnector gas terminal at Bacton, Norfolk which links with the continental gas network at Zeebrugge via an undersea pipeline. In the UK, the landfall works required a planning application accompanied by a formal Environmental Statement. GL Hearn co- ordinated the work of various consultants and prepared an Environmental Statement which accompanied the successful planning application.
