Ivan Tennant

Ivan heads up our Economic Planning team as Economics Director. He has overall responsibility for the services the team provide and their timely delivery to our clients. Collectively, these services aim to promote the welfare of place and community through economic intelligence and strategic insights.

As a specialist in housing, Ivan and his team advise local authorities on their housing need and land supply problems, as well as our private sector clients on market dynamics to inform masterplanning and planning applications.

He has appeared at Examinations in Public (EiP) to support councils on housing matters as an expert witness at section 78 appeals to justify and explain evidence in support of appellants.

His clients have included Homes England, Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), West Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the London Boroughs of Hackney and Wandsworth, Woking Borough Council, Spelthorne Borough Council, Countryside Properties PLC, Peabody Group, Harlow and Gilston Garden Town, and The Planning Advisory Service.

Ivan is an associate member of the RTPI and holds an MBA from Imperial College London.
