Jo Dancy

Jo runs GL Hearn’s small but energetic team of built environment specialists to deliver bespoke communications solutions to clients, in response to development needs. Her team occupies the space alongside the community and developer or local authority clients - curating relationships, facilitating discussions, shaping ideas, problem-solving and, most importantly, delivering value to projects big or small.

Jo is proud to provide a diverse, boutique communications offer to clients, with every member of the team bringing something unique to the table.

The ethos behind the team is one of problem-solving, strategic thinking and creativity – whether doing community outreach for large-scale masterplanning, supporting a complex and political project through planning, or managing a sensitive construction project next door to residents.

What drives Jo is the ability to add value to any project big or small. With her main passion and expertise being workshops and facilitation, she has managed to negotiate a constructive way forward on some very challenging projects both pre-planning and during construction.

In response to the global pandemic, Jo has bolstered the team’s service office and created the IDEA toolkit. Embracing a hybrid in-person and digital approach to communications engagement, the toolkit can provide the right creative, intelligence-led communications solution for any client or development situation.

Outside of work, Jo loves mini restoration, renovation and up cycling projects to give new life back to old things – very much continuing the theme of regeneration into her personal life!
