Laura Fretwell

Laura is a chartered Associate Landscape Architect with over 17 years’ experience of working on high profile, complex and large-scale infrastructure landscape schemes. Laura is based in Colwyn Bay and is GL Hearn’s landscape representative for projects located throughout Wales.

Since joining the company in 2004, Laura has worked on a wide range of projects including public realm improvements, coastal infrastructure projects, educational facilities, road and residential schemes.

Growing up in North Wales, Laura considers herself lucky to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes from the coast of North Wales to the mountains of Snowdonia. The surrounding scenery is what drives Laura’s love for landscapes and for her second passion - landscape photography.

Laura’s professional work often allows her to explore landscapes in undertaking studies such as Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and more recently Environmental Colour Assessments.

Laura is responsible for all stages of a project life cycle from feasibility through to construction, taking on both designer and project management duties. Laura also offers assistance with planning applications and prepares planning, design and access statements, as well as pre-application consultation reports.
