Rod Edwards

Rod is a Business Rates Director with over 34 years' experience in business rates. He started his career at GL Hearn in 1988 and returned to the fold in May 2022. Rod is based in our London office and is responsible for serving our out-of-town large space retail and NHS clients.

Rod has carried out rating work throughout the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland, dealing with business rate appeals on a wide range of property types including retail, office and industrial properties.

He is particularly involved in the rating valuation of specialist properties such as retail warehouses, large retail space, discount food stores, civil airports, NHS properties, telecoms, further education colleges, local authority, garden centres and designer outlet villages.

Rod has also advised clients on other aspects of business rates advice including rates payment management, historic rate audit, empty rates mitigation, grant applications, Section 44a claims, administrations and forensic due diligence.

Rod is a full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
